What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. As we work to educate the future generations, we ensure that the live steam hobby can live on for decades to come, while helping to uplift and shape the future leaders of our community.

Mechanical Team
Club members get the opportunity to get under the hood and do all the maintenance and repairs required to operate the engines. Teaching actual mechanic skills based on small engines.

Learn the real life skills of engineering and project planning as we assemble tracks, build layouts based on blueprints and strategic planning, learn to level, build road bed, and fix geometry for favorable running conditions, as well as manufacturing and machining replacement parts.

learn the skills it takes to operate a business as we actively rely on a board of directors and committee work to successfully operate the railroad.

passing on all these valuable skills to the future generation thru means of the Junior board of directors and junior committee work. giving the youth real life experiences and skills to take with them as they grow in a safe, fun, STEM environment.
WHAT SETS US APART
Under the careful supervision of our more experienced members, knowledge and skill are taught in a safe, STEM style environment, all while everyone is having fun. Unlike many other programs, at the end of the project members get to enjoy the fruits of their labor time and time again as they become an integral and essential part of the operation, promoting pride in their work and a drive to succeed.
