Much of the land appears undeveloped, giving a clear view of the park’s layout before many of the modern features and plantings were added. Humble beginnings

The Largo Central Railroad began its exciting journey in the early 1990s, when a passionate group of dedicated rail enthusiasts came together to seek out ways to preserve the rich and vibrant history of railroading in the thriving Tampa Bay area.

Originally conceived as a heartfelt community project, the railroad quickly blossomed into a cherished attraction for families, children, and rail fans alike. With the very first tracks laid down in 1991, the Largo Central Railroad has since grown magnificently to include a beautiful miniature train ride that meanders through a picturesque park, showcasing both the incredible charm of model railroading and the breathtaking natural beauty of sunny Florida.

Over the years, this beloved railroad has become a delightful staple of local events and festive celebrations, fostering a deep sense of community and warm nostalgia while providing joyous experiences to visitors of all ages.
